For almost two decades, Wendy had the privilege of designing costumes for award-winning NYC based choreographers and some of the most celebrated American dancers in both the downtown and contemporary dance worlds. One of the most notable was her 10-year collaboration with the Donna Uchizono Dance Co. Other highlights include her work with Lar Lubovitch, Aszure Barton for Mikhail Baryshnikov's Hell's Kitchen Dance Project and Renata Sheppard for Balleto Teatro di Torino.
The work produced from those collaborations were presented on stages throughout the world -
The Joyce, BAM, The Kitchen, Baryshnikov Art Center, The Duke on 42nd Street, NYU Skirball Center, Walker Art Center, REDCAT, Getty Center, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea (Torino), Suzanne Dellal Centre (Tel Aviv), Teatro en Rosario (Argentina) and others - for full list see below.
Costumes Wendy designed were recognized by dance critics from The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Village Voice, Dance Magazine, The Washington Post, The Brooklyn Rail Critical Perspectives on Arts, Politics, and Culture. She was honored to be a co-recipient of a 40K Rockefeller MAP Grant to create costumes and set design for a new dance work. She was also invited to design a wearable chocolate dress with renowned pastry chef Remy Funfrock for the annual Chocolate Show in NYC. That dress was later put on display at The American Museum of Natural History in NYC as part of an exhibition called CHOCOLATE.
For Styling work, Wendy has had the pleasure of consistently working alongside internationally renowned Photographers and Art Directors on advertising campaigns, e-commerce, editorial shoots, and creative and commercial videos. She’s also toured with musical artists in Europe and select cities throughout the United States.
